June 16.
Chin Refugee Committee (CRC)-New Delhi has invited Myanmar nationals in New Delhi, India, to hold a protest in New Delhi, India, on World Refugee Day, which falls on June 20.
World Refugee Day, which was first observed in 1951, will be 74 years old in 2025, but the majority of those seeking refuge in India continue to face the challenges of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) failing to recognize their refugee status and inadequate protection in terms of health, education and social security, the Chin Refugee Committee (CRC) New Delhi said.
Therefore, Myanmar nationals in New Delhi are invited to gather at Jantar Mantar on June 20 at 2 pm to demand their rights from UNHCR and the authorities.
Due to the military dictatorship’s continued oppression in Myanmar and another coup in 2021, Burmese refugees are taking refuge in New Delhi, India.
