The military council attacked Kantharyar Asho chin village in Aung Lan Township, Thayet District, Magway Region, at around 9pm on May 8, damaging the windows of the village’s main monastery, but no one was injured, according to locals.
A local resident told Chin World Media, “Last night at around 9:15pm, two bombs exploded and one did not explode. There were no injuries. The windows of the village’s main monastery were damaged. I think it was about 300 pounds, which is good because there were no people in the village.”
Kantharyar Ashochin village was attacked once on April 5 and again on May 5, injuring four locals and killing more than 10 cows, according to locals.
Although there was no fighting in the vicinity of Kantharyar Ashochin village, which has around 100 houses, the military council reportedly carried out the airstrikes.
