CDF-Mindat has completed 80% of the landmine clearance work since the capture of Mindat town in Chin State, said CDF-Mindat spokesman Salai Yaw Mang to Chin World Media.
Salai Yaw Mang said, “Mindat is currently being cleaned up. Mines are also being searched and recovered. Some places still need time to clear landmines. “Especially in and around the military council camp. We are also working to get water in the twon. Stray dogs are also being prepared for rabies vaccination.,” he said.
Since CDF-Mindat occupied Mindat Town, local people have been injured by landmines (2) times, but he said there were no deaths.
“We are planning so that people can travel safely and freely. Our aim is to give priority to the rule of law and livelihood settlement. Public services are to be implemented step by step,” said Salai Yaw Mang.
Regarding the administration of Mindat Town, although the administrative work that previously operated in the entire township will be transferred to the town, the administrative model will be regional, he said that it will not be the same according to the regional situation and some departments will also be abolished. According to Operation CB, 2024 On December 22, the entire town of Mindat was captured.
