6 civilians, including an 8-month-old baby, killed and 9 injured in Mindat Township airstrike last night

The military council launched an airstrike on an area in Mindat Township, District 4, southern Chin State, which has been cleared of the military council, on the night of April 9, killing 6 civilians, including an 8-month-old baby, and injuring 9 others, according to residents of Mindat.

A 500-pound bomb was dropped twice on a location in Mindat Township, District 4, at around 8:44 p.m. on April 9, killing a Christian minister, 2 elderly people, 1 disabled person, a 7-year-old child, and an 8-month-old child, and injuring 9 elderly people and children, according to residents.

The airstrike also damaged more than 10 homes, including civilian homes and a church, according to residents.

Mindat, which has fallen under the control of CDF – Mindat, has been frequently bombed by the military council on April 1 and 2.

On December 22, 2024, the Chin Brotherhood, including CDF – Mindat, and its allies were able to completely capture Mindat from the military council, and the Mindat Township People’s Administration continues to implement the Mindat Township People’s Administration.
