A 5-year-old girl died of malaria in Hmong Tanu Village, Dai Area No. 2, Paletwa Township, Chin State, on May 30, according to local reports.
A Paletwa resident said, “There have been many deaths from malaria in our township in the past, but it was because we couldn’t access medicine. In addition, the most common cause is malaria. In some villages, when there was no phone line, the connection was not good. When we learned about it later, we estimated that there were many deaths from malaria.”
A 5-year-old girl died in Hmong Tanu Village, Dai Area No. 2, Paletwa Township, because she could not get medical treatment in time due to the lack of local medicine and transportation difficulties.
Malaria has been prevalent in about 25 villages in Tatchaung , London Group and Dai Area No. 2 of Paletwa Township since March, and the number of deaths from malaria has increased due to the lack of access to medicine, lack of medicine, lack of medical personnel, and financial difficulties.
On April 30, a primary school teacher from Thaekone Village, Paletwa Township also died of malaria due to medical difficulties.
