Military council launches airstrikes on Mindat, damaging around 7 civilian homes

The military council carried out another airstrike on Mindat town, damaging around 7 civilian homes, on April 16, at 5:20 pm, local residents said.

“The military council dropped two bombs believed to be 250-pound bombs on a location in Mindat town yesterday at around 5:20 pm, causing damage to around 7 civilian homes,” Mindat resident HKL Mindat wrote on his Facebook page.

Mindat town, which is no longer under the military council, has been bombed frequently by the military council in recent days, and on April 9, a military council aircraft bombed Phui village in Mindat township at around 9 pm, killing a total of 6 people, including an 8-month-old baby.

In addition, on April 13, at around 4:00 PM, the Mindat Baptist Church was bombed from the air, although there were no casualties, but the buildings inside the church were severely damaged.

Mindat was captured from the military council by the Chin Brotherhood and allied groups, including the CDF – Mindat, on December 21, 2024, and the current administration of Mindat is being implemented by the Mindat Township People’s Administration.
