The Mindat Township People’s Administration announced today, April 14, that it has provided 3,340,000 kyats in support of families of those killed and injured in the airstrikes by the military council in Mindat Township on the night of April 9.
The military council bombed Phui Village in Mindat Township at around 9 p.m. on April 9, killing 6 people, including an 8-month-old baby, a 7-year-old child, a disabled youth, 2 elderly people, and a Christian pastor, and injuring 10 others.
The Mindat Township People’s Administration said it has provided 1,860,000 kyats in support of families of those killed, their homes destroyed, and the injured, including donations from the people of Mindat Township.
In addition, on April 13, around 4 p.m. on the eve of Thingyan, the military council bombed the Mindat Baptist Church from the air. Although there were no casualties, the buildings inside the church were severely damaged, and the district education office and other residential, office, and staff housing buildings throughout the town were more or less damaged, according to the Mindat Township People’s Administration.
Mindat was completely captured from the military council by the Chin Brotherhood and allied groups including CDF – Mindat on December 22, 2024, and the Mindat Township People’s Administration continues to implement the Mindat Township People’s Administration.
