The New Chinland Congress Party (NCC Party) led by U Bual Sai Lo has applied for political party registration, the military council-controlled MRTV news agency reported on June 9.
The New Chinland Congress Party (NCC), which was granted party registration on May 26, has applied to the commission to register as a political party in accordance with the National Party Registration Regulations 7 within 30 days of the date of the party’s establishment.
Out of the 16 political parties that applied for registration, 14 parties have been granted registration, and the Union Election Commission is continuing to scrutinize the remaining parties to grant registration.
Chin World Media is still investigating U Bwal Sai Lo, who leads the New Chinland Congress Party.
To date, 27 groups have applied to the Union Election Commission for permission to establish parties, and 17 of them have been granted permission to establish parties.
The military junta is preparing to hold a multi-party general election in December 2025, with The New Chinland Congress Party, the Zomi National Party, and the Khumi National Party competing.
