CNF says offensives in Thantlang battle halted due to minor flaws

June 3.

The Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) has suspended its offensive in the battle for Thantlang in Chin State due to minor flaws, Colonel Solomon, a commander of the Chin National Front (CNF/CNA), told The Zotung Post on June 2.

“We have been fighting for years, and when they take over our territory, they take over again, especially as we CNA know, we have to go to Paletwa, Mindat, Kanpetlet, Matupi, Tonzang, Kalay Kabaw, and Magway. We have to go to those places to control Thantlang, so let me answer that we have stopped Thantlang in its current state,” said Colonel Solomon of the Chin National Front (CNF/CNA).

In Thantlang, where fighting intensified after the 2021 military coup, the military council troops that were defeated burned down almost all the civilian homes in the city, forcing the city’s civilians to flee to Mizoram, India, and other safe havens.
