The military council’s airstrike on a village in Mindat Township, Chin State, at 9:40 a.m. today, May 15, killed 3 people, including a local child, and injured around 10 others, according to residents of Mindat.

A local resident said, “Three people were killed, two Chins and one Burmese. The Burmese was a married Burmese man from that village. About 10 people were injured and about 6 houses were burned down.”

Today, a military council jet fighter bombed a village in Mindat Township without any reason.

The victims of the airstrike were a 6-year-old boy and his mother, as well as a Burmese man who had married a Chin woman from their village.

The military council has been carrying out sporadic airstrikes in Mindat Township, which has been cleared of the military council, and the Mindat Township People’s Administration has also announced that around 15 civilian buildings were damaged in the nighttime airstrikes on May 9.

On December 21, 2024, the Chin Brotherhood and allied groups including CDF – Mindat completely captured Mindat from the military council, and the current administration of Mindat Township is still being implemented by the Mindat Township People’s Administration.
