Seven Chin youths from Minbya Township are still being held by the AA, and their parents are demanding access

Seven Chin youths, including a female and male minor from Pe Tha Pyin Village, Minbya Township, Rakhine State, have been detained by the Arakan Army (AA) since May 3, and are still being held without being released, and their parents are demanding access, according to local residents.

A local resident said, “According to the latest information received in Ann Township, they are being held at an AA camp in Kan Ni Village, Minbya Township. The parents have not been able to contact them yet. They have begged to see their children. The girls are also worried, but they are not allowed to see them.”

Local residents said that seven Chin minors, including a woman and a man, from Pe Tha Pyin Village, Minbya Township, were abducted by AA in Ann Township while they were on their way to work with relatives in Yangon to attend school.

The arrested are 15-year-old Mai Pa Saw, 14-year-old Mai Bwe Saw, 15-year-old Mai Thazin, 15-year-old Mai Pye Oo, 19-year-old Mai So Bawk, 17-year-old Salai U Thant, and 17-year-old Salai Bawk Sop.
