Nearly USD $100,000 is needed for medical treatment of Chin and allied soldiers who lost limbs during the battle for Falam, said Salai Timmy, spokesperson for the Chin National Organization (CNO / CNDF) based in Falam Township.
Nearly $100,000 is needed to provide prosthetic limbs, hands, and hearing aids to the comrades who lost their limbs, said Salai Timmy spokesperson for the CNO / CNDF, at a fundraising event for Chin and allied soldiers who were injured during the battle for Falam on May 10.
“In the operation to capture Falam town, more than 50 comrades from the Chin Brotherhood Group and around 90 comrades from the allied revolutionary forces were injured. Among the injured comrades, some had to have their limbs amputated, and some were deaf. We need nearly 100,000 US dollars to equip the comrades who lost their limbs with artificial limbs, prosthetic limbs, and hearing aids. We appeal to the parents and the public to help cover the medical expenses of the comrades,” said Salai Tinmi, a spokesperson for the (CNO/CNDF).
Most of the comrades injured in the battle to capture Falam town were around 18, 20, and 25 years old. A total of 90 comrades, including 56 comrades from the Chin Brotherhood Group and over 30 from the allied forces, were killed in the battle to capture the town, said Salai Timmy, a spokesperson for the CNO/CNDF.
The battle to capture Falam town was held in 2024. The Chin Brotherhood (CB), a coalition of six Chin armed groups, announced on April 9 that the entire Falam Township had been declared a military council-free area on April 9, 2025, five months after the offensive began on November 9.
