The Chinland Government,Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs, which is responsible for the rape of a local Chin woman from Sein Sin Village, Paletwa Township, Chin State on April 5, has issued a statement calling for the appropriate punishment and transparent trial of the perpetrators, citing the potential for racial hatred.
The Arakan Army (AA) has been using the military coup as an excuse to set up military bases and conduct military operations in Chinland without the consent of the local people of Paletwa, causing great suffering to the people. The Chinland government, formed by the Chinland Council, also strongly condemns the deliberate rape of a Chin woman.
The rape of a Chin woman can lead to ethnic discord and ethnic hatred, so it is urged to give the two Arakan Army (AA) members who committed the crime appropriate punishment and provide transparent justice, mental and physical health care, safety and legal protection to the victims, and necessary support.
The Arakan Army (AA) also strongly warns the Chinland government not to commit such inhumane acts of violence against the Chin people in the future. The Ministry of Youth and Children Affairs has issued a statement.
A Chin woman, a local mother of a child from Sein Sin village, Paletwa Township, was raped and drowned by two Arakan Army (AA) soldiers and the two perpetrators have been arrested since the day of the crime, Arakan Army (AA) spokesman U Khaing Thu Kha told Rakhine media outlet Narinjara.
On April 5, a Chin woman, a local mother of a child from Sein Sin village, was raped and drowned in a stream by two AA soldiers while she was on her way to the scene. The victim’s mother-in-law reportedly screamed for help, and the victim narrowly escaped death.
