The Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) group can attack Tonzang Town anytime, says CNF

April 21.

Yesterday, on April 20, the ZRA group entered Tonzang Town with full force and attacked CNA-affiliated groups. During the fighting, ZRA members were injured and killed, and the ZRA group retreated, said Salai Htet Ni, spokesperson of the Chin National Front (CNF/CNA), at a joint press conference held by the CNF/CNA and CDF – KKG today, April 21.

“The fighting can be said to be a back-and-forth battle. Yesterday, on the 20th, the ZRA entered Tonzang town in full force. They fired at us, but we responded. Since the morning, almost all of them have retreated from Tonzang town. We received reports that 4 of them were killed and 6 were injured. They retreated towards Te Tin and Chi Kha towns. Recently, we have received reports that they have been supported by the military council, whether it is drones, weapons or bullets. They have not completely withdrawn, and the fighting could resume at any time, so we are fully prepared for that,” said Salai Htet Ni, a spokesman for the CNF/CNA.

Clashes between the ZRA and the CNA have been taking place frequently since late December in Tonzang township, which is controlled by the Chinland Council Joint Force led by the Chin National Front (CNF/A).
