On the evening of April 24,a 29 year old Chin man, Nangtawng (aka Tg Dominic Dal Khen Nang), was shot dead by military council troops on his way home from Sanpya Ward, Kalay, and cremated, and his ashes were handed over to his family, according to the victim’s relatives.
“Nangtawng had gone to visit his aunt in Thazin Ward on April 24 and then left to return to his home in Sanpya (Khuamawi). When he did not return home, everyone searched for him. We only found out the cause of his death on April 26 today. The soldiers returned the ashes and bone fragments to the family,” said a friend of the victim.
Tg Dominic Dal Khen Nang was identified as a single man living with his parents in the Sanpya Ward (Khuamawi) of Kalay.
The remains and ashes of the deceased will be laid to rest in a Christian funeral service on April 27 at 2 p.m.
